Russia tests S-300V4 system, two to three times wider protection than S-300


Russia has announced that it has successfully tested the S-300V4 air defense system. It has also confirmed that it can shoot down targets that are already under test, including those with supersonic missile systems. Experts also believe that the S-300V4 systems will be able to compete with the new missile systems for 10 to 15 years.

The S-300V4 system was tested in a variety of situations, as well as in the Caucasus-2020 strategic exercise, according to Defense Ministry sources. The system has a range of up to 400 km and is designed for future attacks, said Aitech Bizhev, a former deputy commander-in-chief of CIS air defense. The S-300V2 and S-300V4 systems are designed for missile defense.
