Thailand agrees to amend constitution

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has said he has agreed to amend the Thai constitution after holding a special session of the Thai parliament on October 26 and 27 to resolve months of protests in Thailand.

However he acknowledged that their numbers were not enough to defeat Lukashenko’s government, and called on the Thai government to work for a new constitution.

Anti-government protesters have been taking to the streets almost daily, demanding the resignation of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and the reform of the Thai monarchy.
